The Abelson Vocal Music Commission Program is an annual commissioning program made possible by gifts from the Katherine A. Abelson Fund of the Lester S. Abelson Foundation. As Ms. Abelson is an ardent supporter of vocal music, the commissioning program is for works which include voice. The program also supports the premiere performance of the commissioned work by a major Chicago ensemble and/or soloist.
